A Thread Through the Gallery
Follow the Thread brings five textile and fibre artists together under one roof, each connected by a single red thread running through the gallery space in a vibrant celebration of contemporary textile and fibre art. Each artist uses thread, fibre and cloth to tell stories, honour heritage, explore memory, celebrate nature, and transform everyday materials into something extraordinary. Together, their works reveal the shared language of making while highlighting the endless possibilities of textile expression.
The show runs alongside the Changing Threads Contemporary Fibre Art Awards in Nelson, a complementary exhibition in the heart of Māpua. It is a rare opportunity to experience five remarkable artists whose diverse practices demonstrate just how expressive, innovative, and compelling textile art can be.
