Holistic Hound

The inspiration for Holistic Hound began with Erica’s dogs, Buster & Winnie. Buster’s grass allergy caused his paws to become red and inflamed, and hot spots to regularly appear on his belly and underarms. A typical Foxy Jack, Buster also loves to dig and required frequent washing. After a miserable time on steroids Erica explored using natural ingredients to soothe his paws and clean his coat while also calming his skin irritations. Winnie, a Huntaway Collie, sheds heavily, and Erica discovered that regular brushing combined with nourishing coat care makes a noticeable difference to her coat’s health and comfort. 

Excited by the initial results of her early product trials, Erica joined forces with Suzanne Hall, MNZM an internationally awarded chemist and fellow dog lover. With Suzanne’s decades of experience in formulating high-performing natural products, they set out to create a New Zealand made range that prioritises skin health, premium botanical ingredients, and sustainable packaging. Their shared values and love for dogs are the foundation of Holistic Hound. 

Holistic Hound products are made in Suzanne’s GMP-certified laboratories at the Ngawha Innovation & Enterprise Park in Kaikohe. Every step, from formulation to packaging, is designed with environmental responsibility in mind and manufacturing excellence.
