Working from her bush studio in Mohua-Golden Bay Tanias work is her representation for her love of nature. The Ngahere, the Moana, the Puti. Functional forms impressed with hand carved, cast molds and stamps. Making tactile patterns, following form, melding curves and walls, intersecting with flora and shells. Noting “functional” extends to the aesthetic. Celebrating everyday vessels, and her ethos ‘always use your best china and wear your best dress’.
