About Us

We are the owners of The Coolstore Gallery - Laszlo and Corene. We moved back from London with our two daughters in 2021 and are happy to have made Mapua our new home. What started as moving back from London with our family has grown into something we love, a real connection to this community and the extraordinary makers who fill our gallery.

Our focus is to showcase New Zealand Art and Design and ensure we curate a range accessible to everyone, so anyone can find a special treasure. We value quality, locally made artworks and products and have a strong drive towards sustainability

Located on the stunning Waimea estuary at the popular Mapua Wharf, The Coolstore Gallery has a wide range of choices and gives people an authentic art experience.

One of the original stores to set up shop at the Mapua wharf, The Coolstore Gallery is an iconic destination for art lovers and design-minded people.  With a collection of over 100 artists, we have something for everyone from high end handmade jewellery, bone, and pounamu carvings to beautiful homewares and ceramics.
