Mystery Creek Ceramics is the creative home of Alex Wilkinson, a passionate ceramic artist whose journey with clay began in 2015 at a beginner’s pottery class. What started as an exploration quickly became a life-changing passion, helping Alex through a challenging period of depression and guiding her toward a path of self-expression, healing, and artistry.

Specializing in bold, colorful, handcrafted ceramics, Mystery Creek Ceramics grew from Alex’s love of nerikomi – a meticulous, unpredictable process that celebrates the beauty of pattern and form. Each piece, whether a vibrant mug or a functional tableware item, is crafted to bring both joy and practicality to daily life.

Alex holds an honors degree in sculpture from The Waikato Institute of Technology, where her studies deepened her understanding of clay and its role in contemporary art. Her sculptural works have been featured in exhibitions across New Zealand, including the National Contemporary Art Award, Portage, and Waiclay.
