Sarah grew up in the small coastal village of Eastbourne, Wellington. After spending a few years living in Australia, she returned to Aotearoa and settled in Whakatū with her husband to raise our whānau. They have now called Te Tai-o-Aorere (Tasman Bay) home for the past 26 years.

She worked as a nurse for many years, but creativity has always been a constant in her life, whether through artistic projects or small side businesses. In 2013, she began studying part-time toward a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Media at NMIT, balancing study with work and raising three daughters. She proudly completed her degree in 2022.
As a mixed media artist, she enjoys working in a variety of forms, with a particular passion for textiles. The materials she uses and the direction my work takes are often influenced by mood and the messages she wants to express.
Sarah often works with recycled or repurposed materials, using what she has on hand or what nature provides. She believes in making art that respects the environment, values resourcefulness, and embraces the beauty of imperfection.
