Up and Out
NJW (Nelson Jewellery Week)
10th April until 22nd May
First time being part of the awesome and vibrant Nelson Jewellery Week...encouraging everyone to venture OUT of the city limits to explore 'Up and Out' a group exhibition of upcoming and mid career jewellery artists who have created individual collections for NJW. Representative of their key aesthetic and materials ranging from punk avant garde statement pieces to inspired by the natural world everyday wearables. Using everything from stone, smokewood, ebony, precious metals, leather and gemstones.
Learning their art from different backgrounds and experiences – the collections promise to spark conversation and intrigue. Exploring connections and relationships between nature, humanity, social issues, cultures, sustainability and materials.
From confronting pieces tackling body image to poetic combinations pounamu combinations....definitely worth the trip 'Up and Out' to Māpua!
