Collection: Sara Gore

Sara Gore is a textile fibre artist with a love of line, rhythm, and the quiet beauty found in reclaimed materials. Working primarily with recycled fabrics, she transforms discarded textiles into contemporary works that celebrate texture, movement, and renewal.

When weaving, wrapping and knotting she feels this ancient practice connects her to her ancestors and women who worked with textiles in the past (perhaps even from her Persian heritage). As a result, unintentionally, her works often have an ancient/tribal flavour.

After taking time away from her creative practice to raise her children, Sara is re-emerging as an artist with a renewed sense of purpose and confidence. Moving to New Zealand with her family, she quickly found herself at home within the vibrant and supportive creative community of the Nelson and Tasman region.

At the heart of Sara's practice is a belief in the power of transformation. By giving old and forgotten materials a new life, her work reflects a deeper metaphor for human experience: that renewal is always possible. It is never too late. The worn, the discarded, and the overlooked can still hold extraordinary beauty, value, and hope.
