Silver Fern Earrings
Silver Fern Earrings by Nick Feint, Stone Arrow - Golden Bay
The silver fern, an iconic kiwi symbol, adorns our latest handmade up-cycled glass earrings. For our stylish take on the silver fern, we designed a slender tapered earring shape to perfectly complement the simple stylised motif. Completely designed, shaped, tumbled, sandblasted and finished with our handcrafted recycled sterling silver hooks by us, here in our Golden Bay workshop - doesn't get more kiwi than that!
Measurements excluding hook: 38mm(l) x 10mm(w)
Length with hook: 50mm

Otherwise known as Ponga, silver fern is a species of tree fern found only in New Zealand and has been recognised as a symbol of New Zealand's national identity since the 1880's. Silver fern is identified by the white or silvery colour found on the underside of its mature fronds, and was used by Māori to mark a path in the forest.
