Koru Earrings by Nick Feint, Stone Arrow - Golden Bay
Anyone who has set foot in the New Zealand bush will be familiar with the beauty of the unfurling koru frond from which this design takes inspiration. These beautifully shaped earrings are made from up-cycled glass and sandblasted with our simple yet unmistakable design, making them the perfect earrings for yourself or as a gift, to represent Aotearoa. Completely designed, shaped, tumbled, sandblasted and finished with our handcrafted recycled sterling silver hooks by us, here in our Golden Bay workshop.
Measurements excluding hook: 38mm(l) x 10mm(w)
Length with hook: 50mm
Matching necklace available here. See also the larger size earrings here.
This koru frond form has significance in Māori culture as representing new beginnings and growth, as well as being symbolic to many cultures around the world. The tightly wound, spiral shape of the fronds (also referred to as fiddleheads) gracefully unfurls into beautiful, lacy mature fern leaves.
