Artist Statement
These three works were created specifically for the Ripple exhibition, reflecting my evolving approach of emerging figurative forms out of two-dimensional designs. While my art is typically geometric and structured, these pieces mark a distinct shift toward a more organic process of pattern-making. The compositions feature intersecting human faces, with concentric ripple designs representing the life forces or energies emanating from within each of us.
These works explore how human relationships and interactions generate new dynamics as they intersect, disrupt, and merge. In physics, the phenomenon of two or more waves transversing the same space is called "interference," which can result in either constructive or destructive outcomes. In these pieces, I envision a constructive process – suggesting that as the energies meet, they harmoniously amplify one another, ultimately achieving a state of balanced coexistence.
