Mug Off competition entry from Reiner Kuske from UPPER MOUTERE.
"Uncoiling"
Material: Various stoneware clay bodies, ceramic stains and Terra Sigillata.
Technique: Handbuilt using coil and hand-forming techniques, with individually formed elements wrapped around the vessel. Finished with layered Terra Sigillata.
Inspiration: Part of my From the Depths series, Bound combines a functional mug with an organic sculptural element. The dark, textured vessel is encircled by forms that suggest something emerging from the depths and taking hold of the mug.
