John Anderson and Pauline Morse
Pauline Morse
Pauline is a self -taught artist who has painted most of her life. After a career in the NZ wildlife Service, she began painting birds in the early 1980s after a trip to Fiji landed her with a commission to illustrate Birds of the Fiji Bush. That lead to further commissions, notably a series of stamps for NZ Post featuring the well-known 40 cent kiwi and other birds, butterflies and tuatara. She also produced artworks for a series of cheque books for the BNZ featuring kiwi and duck stamps for NZ Fish and Game. In 1992, she was named Wildlife Artist of the Year. Pauline has also authored a book of her paintings entitled Wild Natives. In recent years she has turned to painting landscapes in oil and printmaking.
