Nick started making Moving Mountains in Oamaru stone around the year 2000, but it was almost two decades before he had any cast in bronze, at Giltech Precision Castings, in his home town of Dunedin.
This is the first set of three bronze Moving Mountains, first cast in 2018. Compared with the later iterations of this idea, MM I is quite small and fine in texture.
This sculpture is a limited edition of 10 sets (sold out), with one artist’s proof currently remaining.
The largest of these mountains measures 75 mm high, by 200 mm wide.
The smallest mountain is 55 mm high, by 80 mm wide.
