“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade”. This adage suggests that we turn something sour into something sweet and always be optimistic. Lemons are in fact not a naturally occurring fruit – like so much of our food, they have been selectively bred over time to produce the desired ‘sour’ flavour. So, life doesn’t give us lemons!
These earrings, made up of various citrus fruits laser cut from recycled plastic, challenges us to question where our food comes from, how feeding large populations has influenced food production and how many things that are ‘sour’, have been designed to be just that. Systems that do not serve the people are not broken; they were made that way.
Earrings available - sizes vary - full slices diameter 3cm - half slices 1.7-2cm x 2.8-3.5cm
Care instructions: do not keep in direct sunlight for long periods as plastic will warp.
