Steve Bellamy, Nelson

Steve graduated from Ilam School of Fine Arts in 1980, specializing in Graphic design. After completing his degree, he entered a 4-year apprenticeship in signwriting at Riccarton Sign Studios in Christchurch. Steve involved himself in murals, billboards and sign illustration before the introduction of sign technology such as computer cut machines and digital printers.

Married to Sharon also a graphic designer and illustrator the couple moved to Nelson to start up their own business, Bellamy Graphics specializing in sign writing, graphic design and illustration.

Steve and Sharon raised four daughters, two becoming fulltime contemporary landscape artists. This inspired Steve to pick up a brush, developing his own style painting acrylic on canvas.
