Freedom Fantail - Linocut Print by Auckland artist Jessica Scott-Petersen
Did you know - Pohutukawa means ‘drenched in mist’ isn’t that beautiful!
I love that.
This piece was inspired by the friendly & curious pīwakawaka native New Zealand songbird and the vibrant flora of the one and only crimson iconic Pohutukawa tree.
The name of this artwork ‘Freedom Fantail’ represents the awesome freedom we have in New Zealand to walk freely amongst amazing bush tracks or walk along stunning coastal beaches sprinkled with Pōhutukawa trees along the coastline. And I love it when the curious delightful fantails come flying over to check out what you’re doing and if there are any little bugs near by to be eaten.
